Inside the beauty bag of natural makeup artist Emmily Banks
Depths of Beauty blogger Emmily Banks shares her fave natural makeup finds
She radiates vitality and swears by the philosophy of nourishing from the inside out, while knowing everything there is to know about the lotions and potions of natural beauty. So, just what does Depths of Beauty blogger and makeup artist, Emmily Banks carry in her everyday makeup bag?
The Beauty Chef, Beauty Fix Balm
This is a beautiful brand I really trust. It’s made with fermented young coconut, which makes it a lot more readily absorbed by the skin than general coconut oil. It’s a really creamy lip balm that doubles as skincare; it’s really nice around the eyes.
Inika Organic, BB cream
This is a beautiful product for everyday wear. It gives lightweight to medium coverage that can be layered. It has hyaluronic acid so it’s great for plumping up the skin and hydration. It acts like a primer and as a foundation and comes in a great colour range to suit all skin types.
Weleda Skin Food
This is an awesome all-rounder. Deeply nourishing for the body and your face. I also use it as a highlighter or illuminator – what you put on your cheekbones for that radiant dewy glow. Originally created for people with skin conditions like eczema. It’s great for sensitive skin.
Edible Beauty No. 2 Citrus Rhapsody toner mist
I love toners; they’re great for plumping up the skin and giving extra hydration. They also use ingredients that are antibacterial so you can spritz it on before you pop on any other moisturiser and foundation and know you are cleansing your skin at the same time. This is a really gorgeous one that has a blend of natural Australian botanicals and certified organic ingredients like honeysuckle and apple extract, which is really brightening for the skin.
Ere Perez Rice Powder bronzer
This is an amazing natural brand. It’s a bronzer made from rice powder. Really great for sensitive skin, it comes in two tones so you can blend if you want to. I also use bronzer as eye shadow.
Lily Lolo mascara
It’s really long lasting, it gives length and thickness to the lashes and it’s also really affordable too.
Karen Murrell lipstick
This is a great brand from New Zealand, it’s really reasonably priced and comes in a great colour range. They have cinnamon in them so they smell really delicious, and they’re really creamy, they double as a lip balm too.
