3 of the best serums for winter
Natural, active and hydrating serums for your best skin yet Read more
It’s as easy as one, two, three
When you start your clean beauty journey there can be great intentions of starting from scratch, throwing out all existing ‘toxic’ products to make way for new, better for us skincare. However this approach is fraught with danger, just like any new diet, trying to change too many habits at once sets us up to fail. The best approach when making the switch to natural skincare is swapping one product at a time. We chatted to the founder of natural skincare and perfume brand Recreation Beauty Nedahl Stelio about her top three tips to make the switch.
Your skin is your largest organ so it makes sense to start here.
“Switch to a natural body oil to hydrate and condition skin. Look out for the top ingredients to avoid on the label,’’ Nedahl says.
“If you are really attached to one product you just can’t part with, keep using it,’’ Nedal says.
“Don’t make the whole journey dissatisfying because of one product. I think a 90/10 rule can apply here.”
“The more you learn, the more you’ll want to avoid traditional beauty products. Head to EWG to find out exactly what’s in your favourite products,’’ she says.
“You can read the science behind why you should avoid certain chemicals and make informed choices on the brands you trust and those you want to make the switch from.’’
