The G+S-approved organic baby brands

Keep your little one comfy with these eco baby clothes

You’ve got your newborn skincare sorted but what about their onesies? Synthetic materials, dyes and non-organic materials all contain toxins, which babies find harder to filter because of their immature immune system and sensitive skin. If you’re looking to lower you’re little one’s toxic load, organic baby clothing is a great way to start. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite brands that not only produce great organic clothing but also use non-toxic dyes, are planet friendly and support social enterprise.

HART + LAND

The new kid on the block, HART+LAND is the brainchild of The Tot founder Nasiba Adilova who after having her first baby five years ago, made it her mission to create a brand of kidswear that ticked all her boxes. The range, which includes bodysuits, leggings, swaddles and tees is non-toxic, eco-friendly and ethically made, and sizes go from newborn to 5 years. There’s even matching PJ sets for mums and dads.

Pure Baby

Pure Baby isn’t the most affordable baby brand on the market but the quality is amazing. Pieces cope well with the constant washing and can easily be passed onto siblings when the time comes. Everything is made from 100 per cent organic cotton and onsies are super soft and very functional. The cardigans and girl’s dresses are also pretty adorable. It also supports social enterprises, St Kilda Mums and Global Sisters.

Boody

Boody’s organic bamboo basics have long been a hit with the grown-ups and now they’re are offering little ones the chance to wear their signature soft, durable and sustainable pieces too. The short and long sleeve tees are perfect year-round staples and sock packs will ensure no little tootsie ever goes cold.

Sapling Child

Organic cotton and water-based organic dyes form the basis for Sapling’s baby collections. The snuggle wraps and heart pants are hard to go past, and their bloomers make a great gift. Keep an eye out for capsule collections by influencers like Not So Mumsy’s Marcia Leone, Kate Waterhouse and Kristin Cavallari.

Niovi Organics

Transparent in their supply chain, Niovi produce certified organic cotton baby clothing as well as sleepwear for babies up to seven-year-olds. Their dresses for little girls are comfy and practical and we love their bibs, beanies and tiny sweat shirts. And any leftover fabric is sent to recycling companies instead of landfill.

Nature Baby

As well as organic cotton, New Zealand company, Nature Baby also uses pure merino wool, making them a great option if it gets a bit chilly at your place. The Fair Trade certified brand designs for newborn through to four years and we love that they also cater for new mums too with their maternity and breastfeeding goodies. We also love the sleeping bags.

Estella

This New York based organic baby brand prides itself beautifully constructed organic cotton pieces. Their gorgeous onsies have fab designs – like the iconic NYC pretzel – as well as all classic styles too. Sizes range from newborn to toddler and we also love their coordinating baby blankets, hats and soft toys.
